Although its origins are in the United Kingdom, the Regional Studies Association is a truly international organisation, with special sections established in different parts of the world. One of these is NORSA - the Nordic Section of the RSA - comprised of members from Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Finland and Sweden. This section was established formally on 11th September 2008 in Umeå, Sweden - as in the map below.

NORSA put on special events in their respective nations, but these are not restricted to NORSA-area members - anyone can come! The next significant event is NORSA 2010, in Seinäjoki, Finland from June 21-23. Seinäjoki is a city in the region of Southern Ostrobothnia and has a population of around 60,000.
