The European Commission's regional policy directorate is another place on the web that the RSA blogger likes to visit. All the latest news and developments can be found there, such as the recent strengthening of ties with Moldova and Ukraine on regional policy.

There are lots of interesting areas of the site to explore, but one interesting part is the section on 'Why do we need regional policy?'. If you don't want to click the link, the short answer is 'to reduce economic and social disparities'... One interesting nugget from this section of the site is the chart of extremes in terms of GDP per head across Member States, by region (click image below for the full-size pdf).
