Latest news from DG-Regio on work looking at regional policies in China and the EU. This brings to mind many questions, not least of which is the definition of 'region' in use in China and the one used in the EU. Nevertheless, the RSA blog squad have been looking at this work... You can find reports, details of events and presentations here.

Of particular interest is the Research Report of the Chinese Expert Group. At 377 pages it's a bit long for breakfast reading but it does have many fascinating maps (see below for the one on page 23), huge amounts of interesting data (e.g. Table 3.2, page 79) and lenghty commentary on all sorts of other relevant areas.


For those with an intersest in EU-China comparisons this is certainly worth a look.
