One of the many schemes that the Regional Studies Association operate are our Research Networks, but it seems that people sometimes forget about this source of funding for organising themed research events. So, we just thought we'd take a few minutes to remind people about RSA Research Networks and, hopefully, encourage more people to apply.

Key fact: the RSA offers funding of up to £3,000 (about €3,500) for Research Networks which examine an issue of collective interest, such as Roberta Comunian, Caroline Chapain and Nick Clifton's focus on 'Creative Regions in Europe' or Cecilia Wong and Nick Gallent's network on 'Housing and the Regions'.

Whether you're an established professor or an early career researcher it makes no difference ... if you've got a good idea that is of relevance to the RSA then we encourage you to apply. There are of course some rules and regulations and general guidance - which you can find here. Obviously, anyone applying needs to be a member of the RSA. If you're not you can easily join!

The final thing to say is that the Research Network programme has four deadlines each year for applications. The next three deadlines are as follows:
  • 1st June 2012
  • 24th August 2012
  • 2nd November 2012
